Minutes of Public Regular Meeting –
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
There was a
regular meeting of the Cable Advisory Council called to order at 7:05 p.m.,
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 by Chairperson Carmella Amodeo at the Charter
Communications facility, Newtown, Connecticut.
ATTENDEES: Carmella Amodeo (Newtown), Joe Hurley (New Milford), Kate Donahue (Trumbull), Eugene Rosen (Newtown), George Fletcher (New Milford), Paul Katzmark (Southbury), Ray Juskiewicz (New Fairfield), Bob Bell (New Fairfield), Karen Chance (New Fairfield), Stephanie O’Rourke (Kent), Jonathan Gibney (Brookfield), John Bell (Kent), Jim Lang (Trumbull), Donna Cassidy (Trumbull)
From Charter: Greg Van Antwerp (Community Access), Paula Cecchetelli (Marketing), Tom Horan (Operations), Tom Cohan (Govt Relations)
Public: John Genovese of Kent.
PUBLIC INPUT: Mr. Genovese had a number of problems with his
Charter service – had problems with both the telephone CSR and the CSR Center
in Newtown. John Bell finally heard
about the problem and stepped in. The
Council then discussed the institutional/cultural issues Mr. Genovese’s
problems represent. Bob Bell suggested
Charter put a poster up in the Service Center that says “If your problem is not
resolved satisfactorily today, please call __________.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chairman Amodeo indicated that pursuant to Robert Rules, the minutes do not need to be approved by a motion /vote. Two corrections were made to the minutes.
Carl Braun sent his report in. Motion to accept Lang, 2nd Bob
Bell, unanimous.
CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS
REPORT.
Tom
Cohan:

Charter
still working through bankruptcy court. Expect
a ruling any day.
·
Tom
is working with the DPUC to allow customers to put their zip code in on the
DPUC website and a link will take then to the channel lineup for their cable
system. He will send Kate the link for
this so she can send it to the Council members.
Paula
Cecchetelli:
·
HD
lineup has been expanded to include Disney and NFL Network – for a total of 53
channels.
·
Paula
will print up copies of the channel lineup for Heritage Village.
Greg
Van Antwerp = Public access report and newsletter.
